  1. Look guys, the police LIE ALL THE TIME. It’s part and parcel of being a police officer in Canada. They aslo MANIPULATE INFORMATION to suit their own agenda. Plane and simple. And as you already know, Canadian police are NEVER accountable for their actions what so ever. When have you heard of a cop in Canada being fired? Only in the USA do cops get fired without charges being laid, let alone convictions.

Here’s a little insider. Back in the early 1990’s police cars (YRP) were equipped with video cameras and the officer wore a wireless mic to record interactions with the public. How many police cars, in Canada, do you find with video cameras in them? Not that many. Why? Because the police unions cried that the video might actually be used AGAINST the officer. Gee, we wouldn’t want the TRUTH to come out now would we.

Everyone now has a HD video on their Smartphones. USE IT when dealing with the police. There is NO LAW in Canada that prohibits a person from recording interactions with the police. I’ve done it twice during a traffic stop. If you know the cops are coming to your house, start recording the minute they come to the door. You cannot be detained unless your under arrest.

In Canada the requirements to be a police officer are GRADE 12! You get what you pay for.

Fact most police officers in Canada have some form of alcohol AND domestic problems. Most can’t hold down a marriage let alone a common relationship. Kinda like the kettle calling the tea pot black.

Why should the public feel sorry for a cop who gets killed on the job. I don’t. It’s a trade off for the hundreds, if not, thousands of complaints that get swept under the carpet each year. I’m all for it.

Not just in York but in Durham too. Quick-draw policies. I believe in protecting women (and men) but let’s investigate before knee-jerk responses. Is it all about money now as stated in the first post? Sad…. very sad. So homes and families now get uprooted when it all could have been avoided.

  3. I know it happens LOTS. The man is automatically arrested, even if HE made the call to police, and treated as guilty even AFTER proven innocent. It’s a huge boon to the York Region economy to have this continual stream of men parading through their courts. You know as well as I do that zero tolerance ONLY applies to men. This needs to change. There are plenty of guilty women out there too. One B.C. police commissioner (Christine Wozney) summed up a large contributing factor as to why the problem even exists, effectively saying, “Because our officers are too damned lazy to do their jobs properly.” I concur. Most cops are good, but many can’t be bothered with a proper investigation so they instead automatically arrest the guy, collect extra pay to show up for court appearances and really don’t seem to give a rat’s ass about the truth. I strongly recommend people contact http://www.CanadaCourtWatch.com with their stories.

  4. Your case is not unusual in York Regional Police. It happens more often than you think.
